EURO Tour to return to Salzburg

The EURO Experience Tour will return to Salzburg between 10 and 15 May after its initial stop in April was postponed due to technical problems.

Leaky balloon
The original dates had to be cancelled after the inflatable tent which houses the travelling exhibition sprung a leak, but it has now been repaired and Euro 2008 SA chief executive Martin Kallen is pleased to see a new stop scheduled in Salzburg. "Despite the past difficulties we want to give football fans in Salzburg the chance to experience the Tour," he said. "That's why we tried to find another date for Salzburg as quickly as possible."

Interactive exhibition
The EURO Experience Tour is visiting 13 cities in Austria and Switzerland in the run-up to UEFA EURO 2008™, drumming up excitement for this summer's tournament. Housed in the world's largest inflatable tent, it includes displays of tournament memorabilia, interactive exhibits and a 140-seat cinema showing a 25-minute film of highlights of previous final tournaments. Visitors can also be photographed with the Henri Delaunay trophy.

Berne supply bridge completed

A supply bridge for power and television cables to the Stade de Suisse Wankdorf in Berne has been erected especially for matches at UEFA EURO 2008™.

Three matches
The temporary structure was deemed necessary because television broadcast vehicles will be located outside the stadium for the three Group C matches and many kilometres of cables will be required to ensure connectivity from the stadium. The bridge crosses Papiermühlestrasse and goes directly into the stadium. It will also allow the stadium to obtain power from external generators so that electricity can be maintained in the event of a possible disturbance in the city's power supply.
